HOUSE: Newburgh

To clarify…

1. I will not be making a video of the bathroom.
2. There will be no photos of me in the bathtub.
3. It’s going to be at least a couple of weeks before the big reveal.

I didn’t mean to start a guessing game, sorry! It’s not a huge secret, but I’ve received so many comments and emails from readers asking for finished bathroom photos, so I thought I should post an explanation of why there aren’t any yet.

So here’s what it is: I’ve agreed to participate in a special feature article for one of my favorite blogs, and out of fairness to the author, I won’t be showing any more photos of the bathroom until the story is run. That’s all! And I will most definitely let you know when the article is live on the other blog (which you probably read already, anyway).

p.s. It was wonderful to take a shower this morning! I’m off baths for a while, I think.

Did someone actually guess that there would be photos of you in the tub? That’s a riot! I can’t wait for the real reveal.

I can’t imagine a video of a tiny bathroom would be all that exciting!!

When the photos are posted, you can just scroll through them really quickly and pretend it’s a movie. 🙂

I guess the maxim photo shoot in your new bathroom will happen later?

    LOL! 🙂

What? No pictures of you in the tub? ‘Cause that’s totally what I was expecting. Drag.

Looking forward to seeing the pics – enjoy the novelty of being able to take a long hot shower in the meantime. The room is for you both, after all!

I haven’t been able to put my finger on why I care so much about your bathroom. Then, about the third night I got up at 2am to see if you posted your reveal yet, I decided it was your collector/minimalist style and your get-it-done drive that have captivated me. That is a rare balance, and you do it so well.

And finally, I read one of your links about your town, and holy guacamole, I didn’t know you were building this jewel in a boarded up ghost town! I hope it isn’t as bad as all that, and that you are part of a huge renaissance for your sweet old city.

Diana: I deleted the first portion of your comment because it has absolutely nothing to do with this post. I’m not even really sure why you bothered to bring up your feelings on that subject, unless it’s to use my blog as a means to spread your opinion about another blog. You are, of course, entitled you your opinion, but this is not the appropriate forum in which to express your feelings.

On topic—Newburgh is far from being “boarded up ghost town”, but this is indeed a city with a lot of problems and, fortunately, even more potential. That said, I already love Newburgh for what it is, and I am very to be making my home here.

I too, keep checking back to see the bathroom! Good luck with the huge reveal – i’ll be here to see it!

Oh, truly I’m sorry. I didn’t think to check your blog roll before I typed. I had just been emailing someone else about it, so it was on my mind when you said you’d reveal your bathroom on another blog–a bit of a panic when I thought I wouldn’t get to see it, that’s all! I certainly didn’t mean to throw shade. I imagined I was speaking against animal cruelty with a fellow animal lover, and yes, I think you have to shed light on the ugliness to make things better in the world. About Newburgh, I didn’t mean to insult it. I was refering to this link, which saddened and shocked me:

Aha, I bet I totally know what the reveal will be for! Yay, you deserve it. And thanks for the white floor images! Whenever I see pictures like that it reminds me that yep, they’re the best, and that I won’t regret it when I eventually do all our floors.

how exciting! when i was growing up i hated white walls. i always felt like i was in a refrigerator…but i think those houses weren’t done with any style. i LOVE your white non-refrigerator walls, floors, etc 🙂
