Four Legs

Danish Rabbit Hopping Championship!

This video made me incredibly happy. Look at these guys go! Of course I knew that rabbits can jump, but I had no idea that they can do it so high, so long, and with so much grace. I wonder if Hank could do that. Maybe if he were Danish.

Thank you, Evan!

ha! i love this…it makes me miss my old bunny. also, it makes me want to enter my ridiculous jumping cat in some sort of contest (although i wouldn’t because he would hate it). thanks for sharing!

    Squeeeeeee what impressive little bunnehs!

I really like what happens at 1:13, where he stops just short of the jump so she moves him back a couple feet and then he’s like, “aw, alright, I knew that” and finishes like a champ.

You know, I’m not sure why, but I think I love it best when they stop right before a jump…”nah, I changed my mind. I don’t want to.” And I was kinda touched by the trainer that was comforting (?) the most likely spooked bunny that got “stage fright.”

Love how they give them a little pep talk before the jump. Too cute!

Was she just whispering some words to that rabbit so he could make it?
    That is soo funny!

Oh you are SO getting a bunny in the near future. I can feel it! 🙂

  • Reply Jill August 18, 2010 at 11:02 pm

LMFAO. Okay, yes, the bunnies are impressive. BUT. My favorite part has got to be the hilarious (unintentional?) disparity between how loud the applause is in the video, and the fact that they can’t even fill the first row of the event ‘arena.’ 😀

It’s official. We’ve reached the end of the Internet.

I can’t say how this made my heart happy!

This is impressive & super squee! Though I’d love to see if one of those trainers could handle my surly diva bunny. I have a feeling she would disapprove of jumping over anything that didn’t involve her getting food!

Oh my goodness. I could not stop laughing and smiling!

Awww….this is the cutest! And leave it to the Danes (not that I’m predjudiced at all.) I miss the Hankster! No sightings, huh?

I wish this came in a slow-motion format with closeups. Especially with the long jump. =)

Now this is something I didn’t expect from the “Daneland”.

I watched this, and I was struck by the fact that I never thought of having a bunny as a pet, or of training it to jump around. SOO cute, and did you hear that clicking noise they were making, to communicate to mr and mrs bunny? Coooool

HAHA – well there’s more to us than first meets the eye 😉
We organise championships in Flee Hopping, Mouse and Rat Racing and I personally enjoy watching the Wife Carrying Race here in Copenhagen every year.
We are definately a pet- and wife caring/competing nation ;-))
