Inspiring Interiors

Another IKEA Udden/Grundtal kitchen.

Today at Desire to Inspire Jo posted some great photos from interiors photographer Amanda Prior’s portfolio. One of the featured kitchens stood out for me because it uses the same freestanding UDDEN units and GRUNDTAL shelving from IKEA that I have in my own kitchen, but used in a completely different way.

The color scheme is a bit too “pretty” for me, but there’s a lot of inspiration here. The shallow wood shelf that surround the units looks great, as does the recessed glass shelving. I also really like the pullout undercabinets (custom-built, perhaps?) with butcherblock tops:

I just want to know where the refrigerator is!

Too close to robin’s egg blue for you, perhaps?

I really love the essence of this too – a little sleeking up and it would be rather near the mark. The raised shelf around the work surfaces is a definite winner.

Vicki, I have nothing against robin’s egg blue…unless it’s paired in any way with a chocolate brown microsuede sofa. 😛

I love this kitchen, it’s giving me great inspiration for mine. The color combo is great, it manages to be industrial but warm at the same time.

Love it! I am looking at getting the Udden sink but cannot find out how big the actual sink is!
Can anyone who has this help?
How wide and deep is the sink bowl and how close to the edge of the console is it?
It’d be GREAT if anyone could tell me!

I think I’ve found out the sink dimensions now, but still chasing the distance from the sink to the edge of the console (the side).

(I was wondering if it was feasible to put two Udden sink consoles next to each other to form a double sink, that’s why I was wondering how far the sink is from the edge)

    Thanks if anyone knows!!!!!!
