I finally got a new camera. Here I am in the bathroom at work (always my favorite place for self-portraits—the lighting is perfectly depressing/clinical, and there are those great Mart Stam chairs in the entryway) upon arrival this morning. So far, I like it. I’m not a very good photographer and I don’t have patience for adjusting settings, etc., so I need all of the automated help I can get. I’m also excited to have a wide-angle lens for taking photos inside the house!
The temperature outside is rapidly dropping. I’ve been wearing my new Wrist Worms from Sandra. Love them! I know fall is going to pass too quickly, and soon it will be colder than cold. I’ll try to savor my favorite season every day in the mean time.

you look falltastic! love the wrist worms. i’m aching to start pulling out my sweaters and scarves.
those little wrist worms are such a fun addition to your outfit! and i’m surprised you manage to look so fantastic, despite the bathroom lighting. i almost always look yellow and sickly when i look at myself in the mirror at my job!
Cute outfit, and I love your hair! How DO you look so good under that craptacular lighting?
you look great, anna!
du är snygg! (you look great!)
happy happy weekend anna, i will put evan’s worms in the mailbox tomorrow so they’ll arrive at your place sooonish 🙂
You look so AWESOME! God I miss you, I wish we got to hang out more! I may have to fix this place up, sell it and move closer to you!
Love the hair. Oh so fab. You look so skinny teeny tiny.
yay for fall! congrats on the new camera – maybe we’ll get to see your finished bathroom soon?
umm, i ‘m so jealous of all your layers. still hot as usual here in texas
Ooh! I have that camera, except all in silver. I wanted the black and silver one but they were out. Boo.
Anyway, it’s a great little camera. I get compliments on the photos all the time. The night setting is really really good…but you have to have it on a tripod or set it on something. Just FYI.
And you look great!
i love the bag! can i trouble to inquire who it’s by? you and i share a similar bag predilection….
ooh!! i got that camera for my sister-in-law, she loves it and her photos have been fantastic.
Ashley: Thank you 🙂 The bag is by Orla Kiely.
i also have that camera. love it.
also love your wrist worms!
i am in new york too, isn’t this weather is fantastic?
Hi, I currently live in Brooklyn but am in the process of buying a place in Newburgh. A friend told me about your website, and I love what you’ve done with your home. The place we’re looking at on Liberty Street is pretty worn down and our meagre budget means lots of DIY. I’d appreciate any advice about resources/sources. Thanks!
Anna-
I’ve been reading your website for months and months now and just love seeing what you’re up to. Found you via Apartment Therapy (love!) and have been hooked since! I’m in the market for a new digital camera and have a lot of the same requirements you do; especially the wide angle lens. Mind sharing what kind of camera you got and a little more about it?
Thanks!!
Liberty Street: Wow, cool! I will email you. 🙂
Amanda: I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5. You can read all of the specs and a bunch of reviews at that link. 🙂
Hey nice camera! I have one of the earlier TZs – well, last year’s, as I bought it last year for my birthday. Still haven’t read the instruction book, but it’s nice, great wide angle and zoom. Takes nice clear pics.
Feels like a grown up camera! Look forward to seeing what pics you take with it!
Hi Anna,
I found your website and really happy that you have been journaling your renovation prograss. I am also from New York City (Brooklyn) and me and my fiance are thinking about moving to Newburgh. We visited the City and fell in love with the Bay View houses.
We stopped by JoAnne’s (Nancy) ice cream parlor on Liberty Ave and spoke with them for a bit about the neighborhood. They were very enthusiastic to hear that we were thinking of moving up to Newburgh.
The funny thing is that when we started to house hunt, we found a house that we really liked which is 23 Henry St.
Since you have been living in Newburgh for about 2 yrs and commute to the city everyday (which I will have to do to maintain my salary), can you tell me anything more about Newburgh such as the culture, the people, etc, if you feel save walking around, if the commute is always consistent in timing?
I think it is great that the house is coming along. If necessary, you can email me (if the address shows up on your side of the blog).
Jessica! Hello! Yes, I will email you today. 🙂
wow! i was never too sure about sandra’s wrist worms. think they took me back too far into my memories of eighties fingerless gloves (although i did feel very cool wearing them back then). or remind me of those teenage wannabe punk kids i see walking around urgh!
but.. you sooo pull them off! you look totally cool and now i totally want them! although the cold has now officially gone here – i’m sure i can find an appropriate time to wear them. surely…. yep i’m sold!
oh and i your work bathroom looks super cool. wish mine looked that good!
I love wrist worms. They are huge over here, especially ones with ragged edges and embroidered details. You look so hip and cool and I love your bag. 🙂
you are SO cute! and your makeup is lovely too.
cool! I am waiting for more shots now! Your blog is one of my favourites. And you look realyy great, nice bag great haircut and colour!
Whoah, what a hottie. You are looking fab, Anna. x
Hey Anna!
I NEED a digital camera and I remembered you buying this one. Do you still love it? I am a photography novice, so I need something that is easy.
