Four Legs + Friends + Family

Soon we will be four.

As I alluded to in my last post, we’ll be getting a new family member very soon. Next weekend we are picking up Bruno’s little brother, a 10-week-old black and tan long-haired Chihuahua!

The only photo we have of him is awful, but I can’t stop looking at him. I think Bruno (who is half long-haired Chihuahua) is going to love having a wee furry friend around. Well, after he goes through a bout of horrible jealousy. That’s to be expected.

We’ve been thinking about having another dog for a couple of years, and the time finally seems right for all of us. I can’t wait to get to know this little guy, and for the four of us to bond. I wonder what his name will be…!

Dogs are so special. I honestly don’t know how we lived before Bruno came into our lives.

It´s thrue: we are very grateful now, that we have a dog. But in the beginning, it was difficult. We got ours when he was about two years old, and we all had to get used to each other. It took some time, but now, after more that a year together, everyone is fine.

Oh how wonderful! We would love a dog but it isn’t right for us just now. Good luck with the little fellow.

i can’t wait to know what you will be naming him!. i already have names picked out for dogs i will probably never even own. he looks like a wonderful little man from that photograph but obviously i am awaiting amazing photographs once you welcome him into your home.

when we first got alfie, cheyenne would stare right through him like he did not exist but now they are firm friends. there is nothing more adorable than watching chey wash alfies head. bless!. i am sure bruno will be more than happy about some new companionship.

Your new addition looks SO cute… I can’t wait until we can have a dog. I want a Boston Terrier, and, boy or girl, it’s going to be called Verne.

So exciting! I’m sure Bruno will definitely like having someone new to play with! Have you thought of any names yet?

We’re really trying not to think too much about what he’ll be named until he’s actually living with us, but names do creep into both of our heads! We never planned Bruno’s name in advance (it actually came to me in a semi-sleep state the first night he was with us), but it suits him perfectly. Hopefully the same thing will happen with the new little guy. 🙂

I have a longcoat chihuahua too! We got him at 12 weeks old and he was my baby. When we got our smoothcoat chihuahua, Maya, he HATED her and he hated us for getting her. It’s only now, 3 years later, that he’s finally accepting her, grooming her and trying to play with her. I don’t regret getting her though. He likes the company even if he won’t admit it. (Just like the hairdryer. He hates the noise but it makes him warm. He glares at me but lets me blow him dry!)

I know that you have no idea who I am, but I am so excited about your puppy! We have a rather solitary papillon and tried to find her a playmate before learning that our landlord doesn’t allow 2nd dogs. If we’d been able to keep looking, though, we would have loved someone like your new pup. Congrats!

(Am almost wishing that you hadn’t posted the really lovely dog beds, though…)
