Hooligans in Wondaland.

I’ve professed my love and adoration for Janelle Monae before (goodness, a LOT has happened with her career since I wrote that post!), and tonight it’s gonna happen! She’s playing at Roseland with Bruno Mars (who is also super talented and adorable) for the very first night of the HOOLIGANS IN WONDALAND tour, my ticket is IN HAND.

“Cold War” // Nobel Peace Prize Concert, 2011

“Let’s Go Crazy” // BET Awards, 2011

“Sincerely, Jane” // Brooklyn Afro-Punk Festival, 2008

Let’s have a little pre-show listening party! SHE’S SO GOOD I ALMOST CAN’T HANDLE IT. Seriously, I think I’m probably going to cry tonight because of the awesome.

Sounds awesome, have fun!! Is it just me or does she not look identical to the twin dancers in Girls Just Wanna Have Fun? Flashback!

I haven’t seen that video in at LEAST 20 years, so I think I’m going to have to go do some research and report back…

UPDATE: Okay, I just watched the video, and I didn’t see any twins. Or anyone who looks like Janelle Monae. Help!

Oh, the MOVIE!!! I thought you meant the video for the Cyndi Lauper song. 😀

And yes, that is too much! So funny…I don’t remember that at all, but you’re right, it’s like Monae double vision. 🙂

You are in for such a treat — I saw her in Brooklyn with of Montreal last year and she put on one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.

That’s what I keep hearing, Kirsty! I’m really excited. 🙂

She is breathtakingly beautiful. I think I would just stand and stare at her. I wonder if her skin is as amazing as it appears on print and screen.
