Back in March, the well-named Anna from Pattern Society emailed me about her soon-to-be-launched rug company, with pictures of some of the designs she was working on. She didn’t have a website up yet, but she does now — and all of the rugs are beautiful! They’re also surprisingly affordable. (And vegan — they’re all 100% cotton!)
Behold, the Union rug:
Now, if THAT isn’t a rug that isn’t a rug that belongs in my house, then I don’t know what is. I might need to get a yellow typewriter to casually arrange on top of it, too, because I kind of just want to live in this photograph.
The whole collection is really nice (the Post rug is my favorite, I think!), and Anna says there will be more designs coming in the new year. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out, because now that Fritz and Bruno have quit treating rugs like giant wee-wee pads, I want rugs EVERYWHERE.
(Side note: I really want to play badminton now.)

Yep… I want them all too. We just finished painting our new place and have started the hunt on new pieces to invest in. I think I may have just found a few…
For whatever reason, I feel like rugs and plants transform a place from a “just graduated college now I am living here” to an actual home of sorts. I need one of these rugs in my life.
Ugh, I just ordered two new rugs…and i cant return them. Guess I could order a 3rd rug….Girl, you get me in trouble!
There’s always room for MORE RUGS!! 😀
Wow, these are great! I am going to have to nab one of these while I can. And I would LOVE any of these in runner format too. Would make awesome stair runners. 🙂
Thanks for sharing, Annas!
So what you’re telling me is that my dog might someday stop peeing on all the rugs? Because I’m about to have to embrace the bare floor look (which has got to be better than the gross house smell) and it makes me sad.
Kathryn, it took NINE YEARS and finally a prescription for doggie-Prozac, but yes, it’s possible.
Nine years??? Well, one of us is going to need some prozac then.
How do you manage to keep your rugs free of dog fur? I have a little “chug” (chihuahua + pug) with white short-ish fur (well, longer than a pug but shorter than Fritz’s) and it’s been a struggle just to keep her fur off our dark gray upholstered couch (which we bought before we adopted her). We use a Dyson vacuum attachment and some sticker-like lint rollers every other week, and it is definitely a chore. Your furniture and rugs (and wood floors!) always look so immaculate! How do you do it? 🙂
I’ve always been in love with carpets, but I live with cats and a dog, so having carpets it’s not a great idea! One day, when I’ll live in a large house and I’ll finally be able to keep ine room all for myself I’ll buy a wonderful, colorful carpet. Until then I’ll just admire them on blogs!! I love the stripey one!
I saw kids playing badminton on the street in Astoria this weekend. It was so random.
I think the most exciting thing abut these rugs, other than price (!!!) and how great their patterns are (!!!), is the fact that they are cotton. Wool is great and all, but it sheds FOREVER.
Definitely bookmarking this one – I kinda want them all. Like, really want them all.
Well. I need to go rug shopping now. And since I can’t decide which one I like the most, I guess I’ll have to get them all. Thank you for sharing and spurring my rug addiction!
xx
I just bought the Valencia. Fingers crossed!
We have no rugs in our apt because my husband and I cannot agree on one. A rug impasse. Maybe one of these will do the trick – love the Union and the Camp!
There are some really nice rugs here. Thanks for sharing and introducing me to Pattern Society.
