I have a feeling this is one of those things that everyone was into five years ago and that I’m just discovering now, but I’m suddenly digging black-and-white composition book prints. What set me off was spotting these sneakers on the subway (which I stealthily photographed and then tweeted—thanks to Kate for identifying them), which lead me to start searching for other composition book-print stuff. There’s a lot out there, hence my realization that this probably old news…but whatever. These are my favorites!
1. Notebook Print Saddle Shoes / Band of Outsiders
2. Winie Print Baby Rib Brief / American Apparel
3. Composition Book Knee High Socks / Artisan Socks
4. Composition Notebook Pouch / Out of Print
5. Composition Print Wristwatch / American Apparel
6. Jillian Print Dress / Club Monaco (discontinued, but check eBay)
7. Dexter Sneaker / Circus by Sam Edelman
8. Composition Notebook Tote Bag / Out of Print
9. Black Static Backpack / Baggu

This post makes me nostalgic for the Marimekko composition print sheets that I had in the 90’s. i must go find them now.
I’ve had a composition book iPad case from Portenzo for a few years. It’s lasted so well and still looks great. Highly recommended:

I also bought one of the Baggu Duck bags in that print recently. Love it.
Thanks for the round-up, Anna!
Very Harriet the Spy!
You missed one near and dear to my heart!!!

great post! those sneakers are amazing. Nike used to have Roshe Runs in a black & sort of composition book/paint splatter i don’t know if they sell them anymore though. after re-re watching miami vice i’ve been contemplating Memphis/zolo a lot!
Love your blog-is everything going well? Looking for a new post any day!
Ha Ha… I just want to say I miss your posts! Instagram isn’t enough (-:
Sad not to see new posts from you since your blog is one of the better ones. It seems to be getting pretty common to create great blogs and then either stop suddenly or just see new posts once a month or two. I guess each person has only so much creativity to share.
Hi, Barb! I wrote a little about this recently:

Lately I’ve had some personal stuff going on that’s keeping me from being able to create quality posts for D16, but I’ll be back. This happens to me every now and then, and there’s not really any way for me to change that. (Believe me, I’d LOVE to be blogging more often!)
I try to be pretty honest here about what I am and am not capable of as a blogger…and as a human. While I’m not glad that you’re sad about the lack of new content, I really appreciate that you’re checking in and hoping to see more. Thank you.
